Course Details

Institute:Camosun College

Length of the program:30 hrs.

This 30-hour hands-on Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), commonly known as TIG welding, course is designed for individuals who want to master one of the most precise and versatile welding techniques. Whether you are a beginner or looking to enhance your existing welding skills, this course provides a practical and comprehensive learning experience in a structured, supportive environment.

TIG, is used where high quality or specialty welds are used. Learn to safely use and maintain equipment as you practice welding. Mild steel is used for practice with demonstrations using stainless steel and aluminum metals. TIG is the most versatile of the welding processes. It was developed originally for welding corrosion-resistant and other difficult-to-weld metals, such as aluminum, stainless steel, and magnesium. Today, TIG is widely used in the shop or factory and in the field to weld practically all commercially available metals.

You will find there is an increasing demand for skilled gas tungsten or TIG welders, and the job opportunities and wages are better than in other areas of welding.
