The Wind Turbine Maintenance Essential microcredential program offers a skills-based approach to the maintenance, inspection, and documentation of wind turbine components. The program consists of two courses – Essentials of Wind Turbine Maintenance, and Essentials of Wind Turbine Troubleshooting. Students are encouraged to register for both.
This program is for anyone with a high school education who wishes to learn about the maintenance and troubleshooting of an advanced power production plant like a wind turbine farm. This program is beneficial for technical or trades students and professionals alike to gain valuable knowledge to transition into working in the wind energy industry. Management professionals will also find this course beneficial to understand the scope of work that goes into lowering the cost of electricity produced in wind turbines by maintaining a proper maintenance and troubleshooting program.
With previous trade tickets and engineering degrees, they can effectively work in the wind turbine industry. The graduates may also decide to take a full-fledged wind turbine technician program in BC or other provinces. The academic credits from this course are transferrable to other colleges and universities.
